Women & Girls

NZC’s strong commitment to women and girls cricket is underpinned by the vision of cricket being ‘a game for all New Zealanders; a game for life’.

Working in partnership with all Major Associations across New Zealand, NZC has a strategic focus to grow female participation, both on and off the field, with an emphasis on quality experiences for all. Cricket must continue to evolve and develop playing opportunities and cricket environments that women and girls across New Zealand want to be part of.

Across the cricket network, we need to ensure cricket delivery and opportunities to play cricket continue to evolve with how women and girls actually want to play, not just the way ‘it has always been done’.

Throughout New Zealand, there are a wide variety of options for females to get involved with cricket – through traditional formats, modified formats and programmes, coaching, managing, umpiring, scoring and volunteering.

Alongside national programmes led by NZC, throughout New Zealand there are great initiatives being lead by Major Associations and District Associations to engage with women and girls.
