England have started the T20 series against the BLACKCAPS with a seven wicket win at Hagley Oval.
The BLACKCAPS batted first posting 153/5 with Ross Taylor (44) top scoring for the home side along with handy contributions from Tim Seifert (32) and Daryl Mitchell (30*).
Jonny Bairstow (35) got the England chase off to a strong start, laying the platform from the middle order to take control.
James Vince (59) and Eoin Morgan (34*) did just that, the pair putting together a match winning partnership to ensure the seven wicket win for the visitors.
The teams now head to Wellington for game two on Sunday.
