Hamilton Boys’ High School were sent into bat in their first match, against Hutt International Boys’ School.

After a blistering start, they were limited to 90 runs — opposing captain Campbell Webster bowling brilliantly for Hutt International with figures of four for 18.

Jacob Parker top-scored for Hamilton BHS with 26 runs.

Hutt International may have been confident going out to chase 90 runs, but Hamilton BHS applied heavy pressure from the onset and didn’t give Hutt International any breathing room, piling on the pressure to tear through the Hutt International line up for a total of 51 runs.

Shaan Bhatia stood out with exceptional figures of 6 for 14, and Kristian Clarke supported well with two for 10. This resulted in a 39-run win to Hamilton BHS in a low-scoring match.
