ROUND FOUR
OTAGO SPARKS v CANTERBURY MAGICIANS
University of Otago Oval, Dunedin
2 December 2018
Result: Canterbury Magicians won by 46 runs
At Dunedin's University of Otago Oval, Round 4 of the national one-day comp produced yet another century on a Sunday-fun-day for opening batsmen, to go with two tons scored up north.
Canterbury Magicians captain Frances Mackay underpinned a 46-run win over hosts the Otago Sparks, taking revenge for a 43-run loss against the same side in Mosgiel the previous day.
The prodigious Mackey's 115 off 134 balls was her seventh one-day century for the Magicians, equalling WHITE FERNS captain Amy Satterthwaite's record for the team.
Moreover, it secured the Magicians' first win of the competition after an uncharacteristically slow start to the summer.

Mackay poured on a 192-run second wicket stand with WHITE FERN Kate Ebrahim (82, above), getting the Magicians through to 275 for seven at Uni Oval, one day after the men's Ford Trophy Grand Final.

They then restricted the Sparks to 229, Mackay taking 4-34 from nine overs with her off-spin. Round Five begins this coming Saturday in Dunedin, Christchurch and Hamilton.
