Magicians cruise to win over Sparks

The Canterbury Magicians who beat Otago Sparks by 14 runs in Christchurch, are in second place on 28 points and will seal a finals berth if they beat the southerners again in the last round on Sunday.

Skipper Amy Satterthwaite was the standout for Canterbury as she and fellow international Maria Fahey put on a stand of 85 for the third wicket before the home side finished on 143 for four.

Satterthwaite made an unbeaten 63 off 52 deliveries while Fahey was equally affective in making 51 off 46.  The pair now side second and third on the overall women’s MVP points table.
