Lockie Ferguson claimed three wickets on his return from a broken thumb for the New Zeland Xl, but it was England's Jonny Bairstow who had the final say in the opening T20 warm-up at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln.
Bairstow finished unbeaten on 78 as his side chased down 172 in the 19th over, after an early onslaught from Ferguson who had the sparkling figures of 3-8 from his opening two overs.

The New Zealand Xl total was built around a classy 76-run partnership between the experienced pair of Anton Devcich (72) and Anaru Kitchen (50*).
The teams meet again at the same venue on Tuesday at 1pm.
