Rain washes out second ANZ ODI

It was a frustrating day for fans and players alike at McLean Park, with the weather and ground conditions washing out the BLACKCAPS second ANZ ODI against Pakistan.

After winning the first ODI by 70 runs and claiming a 1-0 series lead, the BLACKCAPS had the opportunity to claim the series in Napier on Thursday.

Unfortunately, persistent rain would rule out any such potential, with the ground deemed unfit for play and the match abandoned without a ball being bowled.

It leaves Pakistan with one match to tie the series in Auckland in what will be their final match of the tour.

The BLACKCAPS will have their eyes firmly set on a 2-0 series victory, before Australia arrive for the first Chappell Hadlee on Wednesday.

Plenty of cricket to come.
