Otago Boys’ High School met Westlake Boys’ High School on Lincoln Green for their second round match in the Secondary School Boys’ First XI Cup.
Otago Boys’ put on a good display with the bat, reaching 218 runs, with Hunter Kindley top-scoring (66 runs) and captain Taine Bayly having a good knock of 47.
Ryan Doubell and Ross ter Braak both picked up two wickets with bowling figures of 2-21 and 2-24 respectively.
Westlake Boys’ put on a very composed run chase with big thanks to a great unbeaten knock of 82 by Benjamin Beecroft, who guided his side to a four-wicket win.
Angus McKenzie supported well with 40 runs, and Hunter Kindley battled hard with the ball to end with figured of 2-35.
