Huntley School and Otumoetai Intermediate battled it out in their third-round match on Lincoln Green, with Otumoetai betting first. Otumoetai lost regular wickets during their innings, but had good contributions by Scott Shipton (23) and Daniel McNaught (19). However, they fell short of a competitive total and ended with 73 all out. There was some terrific bowling by Huntley captain Harry Godfrey who ended with 4-2 after 3.1 overs. Logan Love also bowled well with 2-12. Huntley reached their target in 12 overs, Joel Clark making an unbeaten 35 and Harry Godfrey also batting well scoring 20 runs. Huntley ended winning by eight wickets.
Medbury School v Raroa Normal Intermediate School
Medbury School 106/4 (OD Curtis 31, AH Sidey 28, JJ Gilchrist 2/13) beat Raroa Normal Intermediate School (SJ French 43, SZ Harris 3/18) by 1 run

Medbury School and Raroa Normal Intermediate School played each other on the Bert Sutcliffe Oval for their third-round match. Medbury won the toss and elected to bat. Ollie Curtis and Angus Sidey both batted well scoring 31 and 28 to reach 106 after their 20 overs. Jayden Gilchrist was the pick of the bowlers for Raroa getting 2-13. Raroa’s opening batsman and captain Sammy French batted well to reach an impressive 43 and take his side to the edge of victory. However, some great fielding by Medbury, resulting in four run outs, and superb bowling from Sam Harris, with three wickets for 18 runs, resulted in an exciting one-run win for Medbury after an incredibly tight match.
Balmacewen Intermediate School v King’s School
Balmacewan Intermediate 125/6 (BR Wheeler-Greenall 71*, CG Elliott 29, CL Cleal 2/1) beat Kings School 124/8 (MR Reesby 55, CG Elliott 4/23) by 1 run

Balmacewen Intermediate School played the only team to win both games yesterday, King’s School, on Lincoln No. 3 for their third round fixture. Balmacewen won the toss and decided to bat, reaching a competitive total of 125/6 after their 20 overs. Becham Wheeler-Greenall had a standout innings of 71* which set his side up well after their batting innings. Charles Cleal bowled well for King’s picking up figures of 2-1. King’s struggled initially during their batting innings, but number four batsman Max Reesby scored 55 runs to bring the game to a tight finish. Balmacewen bowled well at the death to restrict King’s School to 124 and secure a one-run victory. Captain Cameron Elliot bowled brilliantly with figures of 4-23.
King’s School v Otumoetai Intermediate School

Otumoetai Intermediate School played their fourth round match against King’s School on Bert Sutcliffe Oval, and batted first. Timothy Pringle and Matthew James batted well to score 31 and 29* runs respectively, however there was little support around them which left Otumoetai scoring 96 from their 20 overs. Sam Averill bowled superby for King’s School with figure of 4-21. King’s School proved to strong and chased down the runs in the 12th over, Michael Sheed scoring 37* runs and Charles Cleal hitting 24. King’s finished with an eight-wicket victory.

Huntley decided to bowl first and Raroa set 131, with two great innings from Sammy French (51 runs) and Liam Coleman (43*), Joel Clark the pick of the bowlers for Huntley getting an impressive 3-18. Huntley chased down the total in 18.3 overs thanks to a 54-run knock by
Harry Godfrey and 40 runs by Curtis Heaphy. Huntley finished with a seven-wicket win.

Medbury batted first and steadily made their way to a score of 109 after their 20 overs, Zach May top-scoring with 33 runs. Balmacewen had a reasonable start to their run chase with Becham Wheeler-Greenall scoring 28 runs and Jacob Cumming scoring 19 runs, however Balmacewen’s other batsmen struggled resulting in Medbury picking up a hard-fought 10-run victory.
