Aces defeat Stags

Lance Shaw emulated Chris Martin’s five-wicket bag to ensure State Auckland Aces defeated State Championship holders Central Stags with more than a day to spare at Napier’s McLean Park.

Shaw took five for 63 in the Stags’ second innings, as the home team lost their last five wickets for just 20 runs.

Martin took three for 38, completing a match return of eight for 86 for the match.

Having removed their hosts for 188, Auckland required 40 runs to win, which they achieved in 13.2 overs.
