Alan Isaac starts tenure as ICC President

Former New Zealand Cricket (NZC) Board Chairman, Alan Isaac, was today inaugurated as ICC President at the ICC Annual Conference in Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Isaac was elected ICC Vice-President in August 2010 following a joint nomination by Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket. He succeeds Sharad Pawar as ICC President for a two-year term.

Following the announcement from the ICC, NZC Board Chairman Chris Moller took the opportunity to congratulate Mr Isaac on his appointment and wish him well in the role.

“NZC is proud to have one of our own in such an important position at the pinnacle of world cricket,” said Mr Moller.

“Alan is also the first New Zealander to have held the position of ICC President.”

“He has an impressive background in business and cricket administration and has already made a significant contribution to the ICC and NZC.”

“He has earned a reputation as a hard-working, pragmatic and fair leader, which will be important assets as he tackles the significant challenges and opportunities facing world cricket”.

“On behalf of New Zealand Cricket, I would like to convey our very best wishes to Alan as he begins his new assignment.”
