Anzac duo sparkles for Otago

A trans-Tasman stand between Alex Blackwell and Katey Martin helped State Otago Sparks to a five-wicket victory over State Auckland Hearts at Carisbrook.

White Fern Martin made 38 and Southern Star Blackwell 27 in a 72-run third-wicket partnership to guide the Sparks to a second home win in the State League.

Otago chased down Auckland’s 160 for nine in 35.5 overs, courtesy a strong top-order performance.

Victoria Lind led the way for the Hearts, with her 43 providing the foundation for the visitors’ innings, having elected to bat.
