Sri Lanka veteran Marvan Atapattu will sit out the Test portion of this season’s National Bank Test series against the BLACKCAPS. 
Former captain Atapattu will rest a back problem which had caused him problems in the past.
The Sri Lanka selectors have called up two uncapped players – batsman Chamara Silva and seam bowler Akalanka Ganegama for the Tests at Christchurch and Wellington.
Silva has also been chosen for the five-match ODI series, beginning in Napier on December 28.
The Sri Lanka's begin their tour against , in a four-day game beginning 30 November.
