Unbeaten Auckland Grammar School started day three in top spot after having a better net run rate than Hamilton Boys’ High School, and were looking to reinforce their position with another win — this time against John McGlashan College,

Grammar was sent into bat and a superb innings by opener and captain Ollie White saw him make the top score of the tournament so far: 92 runs.

Tim Florence also opened well, reaching 34 before being dismissed — an 81-run opening wicket partnership with Ollie White.

Grammar closed out their innings in style, Ritapraj Gill hitting 26 unbeaten runs off 15 balls to help his side reach the impressive score of 220/4 after their 40 overs.
It was always going to be a tough run chase for John McGlashan College.

Captain Harrison Biggs top-scored along with Ben Hatton, both getting 30. But they couldn’t prevent their side running out of time, and succumbed to an 80-run loss to the tournament leaders.

Kaylin Daji picked up impressive figures of four for 26 and Liam Wong pitched in well with two for 12.
