BLACKCAPS bat first in Wellington

Stephen Fleming elected to bat first as the BLACKCAPS start their National Bank One-Day series against the West Indies in Wellington.

Fleming, returning to the capital, keeps Jeetan Patel in the side – the spinner returning to the scene of his match-winning performance against Sri Lanka.

Lou Vincent misses out, while Daniel Vettori comes in for the erstwhile Chris Cairns from the side who won international cricket’s first bowl-off at the Eden Park Twenty20.
