BLACKCAPS regain third spot

Following their two victories in the Videocon Triangular Series in Zimbabwe, the BLACKCAPS have regained third spot in the ICC ODI Championship.

The New Zealanders were relegated to fourth place after the rankings underwent their annual adjustment last month. But their two victories see them move to 118 points on the table, two ahead of fourth placed Pakistan and three behind second placed Sri Lanka.

Australia remain well ahead of the pack on 136 points. However, with their recent problems in England and the form shown by the BLACKCAPS in Zimbabwe, the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy Series later in the year is likely to be a tight contest.

The New Zealanders face Zimbabwe on Wednesday and India on Friday, while the Videocon Triangular Series final will be played on Tuesday. The BLACKCAPS will almost certainly meet India in that match.
