Bowden to umpire quarter final

New Zealand umpire Billy Bowden will officiate in the first quarterfinal at the cricket World Cup, between Pakistan and the West Indies on Wednesday.

The International Cricket Council today released the umpire appointments for the quarterfinals, with Bowden to stand alongside Australian Steve Davis at Dhaka, Bangladesh. Davis' compatriot, Daryl Harper, is the third umpire.

New Zealand will also have a presence in the Sri Lanka-England quarterfinal at Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Saturday, with Tony Hill the third umpire and Jeff Crowe the match referee.

The two men in the middle for New Zealand's quarterfinal against South Africa, also at Dhaka, are Pakistan's Aleem Dar and Australian Rod Tucker.

Appointments for the semifinals and final have not yet been made.
