Cricket World Rallies Behind Christchurch

Some of the world’s biggest cricket stars are donating some of their prized possessions to raise
money for the many thousands of people devastated by the recent earthquake in Christchurch, New
Zealand.

Leading the charge is New Zealand BLACKCAPS’ captain Daniel Vettori who has made the
extraordinary gesture of donating every piece of his cricketing memorabilia to a sporting auction,
which is raising money for the Christchurch appeal.

Vettori’s treasure trove includes all his test shirts dating back to 1997, his one day shirts and even
stumps signed by the test team following their victories across the globe.

He’s also donated a test shirt signed by the world’s two leading wicket takers Shane Warne and
Muttiah Muralitharan.

The Australian team is also doing its bit, donating a signed bat from the entire 2011 World Cup
squad currently playing in India.

Cricket fans can also bid on a bat signed by the master batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
