This was a close encounter befitting a match that determined the final placings in pool A. A win to Epsom and they were in the finals, a win to Havelock North and it would depend on a runs v wickets differential which would have also included Burnside. However, with eight balls to spare Epsom were able to creep passed Havelock North’s tally thanks to an intelligent knock from captain Lucille Matthews who guided her team to victory with 42 not out. Bowling for Epsom Roseanne Cox bowled very tightly to take 4/3 and Monica Stone secured 3/20. For Havelock North Amy Foster took two and Olivia Gregory three wickets.
