Emily Drumm’s unbeaten half-century State Northern Spirit completed their first State League victory over title-holding State Canterbury Magicians in Hamilton.
Drumm hit 69 not out to record a seven-wicket win at WINTEC Oval over the previously-unbeaten Magicians.
Northern replied hit 224 for three in reply to Canterbury’s 221 for eight, Drumm forging partnerships of 66 with Anna Wilkins (48) and Nicola Browne (25 not out).
Browne also took three wickets in the Canterbury innings, for whom opener Mandi Godliman stuck 45.
