Ed Shuttleworth will join New Zealand Cricket next month in the new position of General Manager of Amateur Cricket.
English-born, Shuttleworth’s passion has always been in sport, having been involved in a number of previous ventures. After training in sport and leisure he put his expertise towards managing a fitness centre in the UK, before becoming sports director at a high profile five-start resort in Kuwait.
Following his arrival in New Zealand, he put his focus into cricket and became the General Manager at Nelson Cricket. He helped many facets of the business during his time there, improving their financial position, restructuring the business, helping to grow grass roots involvement and assisting in developing Saxton Oval to what is now an international ground.
His new position will focus on helping Major and District Associations deliver agreed amateur cricket priorities, including governance, administration, financial and relationship management, and to overlook all levels of amateur cricket in NZC.
Shuttleworth will start in his new role at the beginning of December.
