Looking to stay undefeated after a solid opening encounter, Auckland Grammar sent New Plymouth Boys’ High into bat in their day two match on Fitzherbert Park 2 — and had immediate success, picking up early wickets to have New Plymouth BHS 15/3 within the first 10 overs.

Ben Frewin dug in deep to try build momentum for the Taranaki lads, but fell for 16 and, soon after, saw his side all out for 50.

Charles Cleal and Kaylin Daji both picked up two wickets for Auckland Grammar, then Ollie White and Tim Florence opened the batting for the Aucklanders and looked solid.

They ticked away at the low target until Florence fell for 11, off the bowling of Chris Logan. However, that was the only wicket Auckland Grammar was to lose, White top-scoring with an unbeaten 26 and leading his side to a massive nine-wicket victory.

Grammar heads the points table after the first two rounds, joining Hamilton Boys' High as the two unbeaten sides but well ahead on net run rate.
