Grand finale for White Ferns series

The White Ferns completed their series victory over India in fine style with a comprehensive 210-run win in the fifth One-Day International at Lincoln’s Bert Sutcliffe Oval.

As in the series-clinching fourth ODI, the home team made 272 for seven from their 50 overs.

A century partnership between Suzie Bates (69) and captain Haidee Tiffen (79) for the second wicket set the tone, with Emily Drumm contributing 67 later in the innings.

The assured batting was followed by scintillating bowling by opening duo Louise Milliken and Sarah Burke.

Wicketkeeper/opener Karuna Jain (19) top scored for the visitors, who tumbled from 22 for one to 62 all out.

Milliken (three for off 10 overs), Burke (3/17) and Nicola Browne (2/5) proved far too incisive for the Indians, who were dismissed in 28.2 overs.
