Hearts seal victory

Maria Fahey hit 91 for State Canterbury Magicians but Sara Hungerford’s four wickets and half-centuries by Rebecca Rolls and Ros Kember gave State Auckland Hearts victory at Rangiora.

White Ferns Rolls (57) and Kember (56) put on 119 for the second Auckland wicket to set a target of 223, at a cost of eight wickets from the full 50 overs.

Fahey was the fourth wicket down of the Canterbury chase with the Magicians well placed at 163 for four with just under 18 overs remaining.

But Australian Hungerford took four for 34 from 8.1 overs, and supported by South African-born right-armer Shanna Coetzee (2/32), the last six Magicians wickets fell for 28 runs to seal the win.
