Hinds claim double

State League champions Central Hinds claimed a comprehensive eight-wicket win over State Otago Sparks at Palmerston North.

Central recorded their second win in two days against Otago after skittling out the visitors for 75 in 29.3 overs.

Rachel Candy, Kate Broadmore and Zara McWilliams all took two wickets each, with Katey Martin (11) and Alana Kane (10) the only Sparks to claim double figures.

The home team lost wickets in the secodn and third overs but earned victory two balls into the 23rd, following an unbeaten stand of 68 between Nicole Thessman (32not out) and Kelly Tunnicliffe (36no).
