Hutt International Boys’ School batted first at Manawaroa Park v New Plymouth Boys High School and had a back and forth innings.

Hutt seemed to lose wickets just as partnerships began to gain momentum — but good knocks by captain Campbell Webster (46) and Kahurangi Gray (an unbeaten 38) meant that they were still able to set a challenging score of 153/6 after their 40 overs.

New Plymouth BHS started off their run chase well, all top four batsmen getting starts.

Sebastian Lauderdale-Smith was the pick of the bunch with his 34. However, some tight bowling at the end of the innings — and terrific fielding throughout by Hutt International, including four run-outs — resulted in a tight, 19-run win for Hutt International.

Benjamin Waine picked up bowling figures of 2/19.
