Jamie How has accepted coach Dermot Reeve's offer to captain the Stags for the 2009/10 season.
He will take over from Mathew Sinclair who has relinquished the role from last season.
CEO Blair Furlong said "Central Districts is delighted to have a captain with Jamie's experience in the role."
The Board of Central Districts unanimously endorsed Jamie's appointment at their meeting last week.
