Kerr appointed New Zealand A women's coach

New Zealand Cricket has appointed State Wellington Blaze coach Robbie Kerr to coach the New Zealand A women’s team in a four-match playing programme this season.

Kerr, a former Wellington wicketkeeper/batsman, will lead the team in two matches against the White Ferns and two matches against India at Lincoln University in late February.

The matches will be played prior to the five-match, One-Day International series between the White Ferns and India.

Kirsty Flavell, former White Fern and current State Canterbury Magicians coach, will assist Kerr and will also manage the side.

NZC’s Women’s Cricket Manager Catherine Campbell said: “Both Robbie and Kirsty are current State League coaches and I am pleased that they will have an opportunity to be involved at a higher level this summer.

“They will work closely with White Ferns coach Steve Jenkin as we look to develop a wider pool of players who will be pushing for future White Ferns selection.”
