Central Districts narrowly won through to the final of the 2005 National Women’s Development Tournament after victory over Otago at Ilam Playing Fields.
Wellington defeated Northern Districts by eight wickets but Central, who completed a four-wicket victory over Otago, claimed second place by virtue of a superior run rate.
Canterbury had already clinched first place and a berth in the final with victory in a rain-affected game over Auckland.
Auckland could not achieve their revised target and missed out on a top-two place.
Wellington and Auckland now play-off for third place and Otago take on Northern Districts to determine fifth place.
