Following the recent full review a recommendation was made to split the captaincy, which was endorsed by the CEO and agreed to by the NZC Board.
Unfortunately Ross Taylor decided to decline the opportunity to captain the Test team and has come to an agreement with NZC to take a break from the international game.
He is still committed to New Zealand Cricket and has indicated a likely return for the upcoming home series against England.
Brendon McCullum will assume the captaincy for all three forms of the games.
