NZC Women and Governance Project

This project has a focus on growing the capability and diversity of those on Cricket Boards. It’s about ensuring that all around the country we can lead and oversee cricket as a Game for all New Zealanders. It’s been fantastic to see the cricket family really engage with this important shift!

The NZC Board has gone from 11% to 44% females, Major Associations have moved from 4% to 28%, and District Associations from 7% to 14%. That’s a total of 43 women now involved bringing different perspectives to cricket Board tables for the benefit of our game.

As part of the project we’ve developed resources which are available to everyone in the cricket family to help them embrace the benefits of diversity. Check out www.nzc.nz/governance

We’re also encouraging all Board members to complete the free online Governance 101 for Cricket course. A quarter of all MA board members have already benefited from this. It’s a great learning resource which helps you become more effective as individual board members and as cricket boards. Instructions for signing up are on the webpage.
