Plunket Shield round one Code of Conduct breaches

Auckland bowler Matt McEwan has received a written censure for a Level One breach of the NZC Code of Conduct.

McEwan was cited by umpires Tony Gillies and Ash Mehrotra for showing dissent and swearing after a wide was called on the final day of the Plunket Shield first round match between the Auckland Aces and Wellington Firebirds at the Basin Reserve.

McEwan admitted breaching rule 1.3.1 of the NZC Code of Conduct for showing disappointment at an umpires decision.

Match Referee Kevin Pulley noted McEwan’s excellent track record around codings and said his actions were totally out of character.
