Cricket lawmakers the MCC have ruled that the Kookaburra bat used by international cricketers including Australia's Ricky Ponting is illegal.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the bat has been withdrawn immediately and will not be used in any upcoming international matches.

The MCC had been asked by the ICC to investigate the legality of the bat.
The bat, due to a support strip made of carbon along the back of the blade, attracted a lot of interest.
"Following a thorough review of the matter, MCC has concluded that these bats do not comply with law six of the Laws of Cricket," said a statement from the MCC.
A Kookaburra statement said: "We don't agree with it (the MCC's view) but we've agreed to withdraw it so we can look further at the issue.
"We will continue to work with the authorities because we believe the bat complies with law six 6 and we hope it can be reintroduced soon."
Kookaburra will make an immediate move to supply Ponting with a replacement bat for the tour of South Africa.
The company also sponsors two other Australian batsmen, Justin Langer and Damien Martyn.
