Rain halts Twenty20 tournament

Wet weather ended any chance of play on the final day of the State Twenty20 tournament in Invercargill.

Despite the best efforts of ground staff and officials, neither the Queen’s Park or Southland High School venues could be used after heavy rain in the Southland region over the weekend.

The final round of group games was cancelled early on Sunday, with a final between State Central Stags and State Wellington Firebirds falling to the elements later in the afternoon.
