James Marshall hit a career-bet 152 not out to help State Northern Knights to an 81-run victory over State Canterbury Wizards at QEII Park.
Marshall returned from BLACKCAPS duty to record his highest-ever limited overs score, from 137 balls and including 15 fours, to help the Knights post a strong 332 for five, batting first in Christchurch.
Peter McGlashan supported with 87 from 95 balls as the visitors enjoyed a prolific 50-over spell at the crease.
Graeme Aldridge and Mark Orchard cut through the Canterbury top order before Chris Harris (67) and Kruger van Wyk (85 not out) put on a 139-run stand to stage a middle-order counter attack.
But Canterbury could not match their visitors’ impressive total, ending their allocation runs in arrears.
