Redmond leads Volts to victory

Aaron Redmond’s half-century helped State Otago Volts to victory over State Central Stags at Alexandria’s Molyneaux Park.

Redmond’s 67 was backed up by three wickets each by Brad Scott and Matt Harvie to complete a four-run win, having made 208 for eight having been sent in to bat.

Brendon Diamanti led the visitors’ attack with three for 51.

BLACKCAPS batsman Mathew Sinclair hit 54 in the Stags’ run chase but could not help overhaul their target.

Sinclair and Jacob Oram (18) put on 69 for fourth wicket, and the Volts were able to slow down the opposition run rate, ending their innings on 204 for nine having played out the full 50 overs.
