Rebecca Rolls’ 64 proved crucial in the final analysis for State Auckland Hearts against State League leaders State Central Hinds.
The experienced White Fern (pictured) helped Auckland to 171 for nine off 50 overs at Fitzherbert Park, ultimately edging to a thrilling three-run win at Fitzherbert Park, Palmerston North.
Rolls was supported in a solid third-wicket partnership of 90 with Ingrid Cronin-Knight (36).
In reply, CD pushed towards the target with Sarah Duffill (24), Aimee Mason (26), and Sarah McGlashan (22) leading the way.
But needing eight to win with a single wicket to spare going into the final over, but they could not force the vital boundary and eventually fell short.
