Only 15 overs were possible before rain had the final say on day three of the first Test between Pakistan and India at Lahore.
Morning drizzle was followed by poor light causing an early lunch to be called. Then after the break only three overs were possible with play finally being abandoned at 3.20pm.
That was still enough time for Virender Sehwag to make it clear that Indian has no intention to allow Pakistan to benefit from its first innings batting rout.
Sehwag raced to 96 not out as the stand between he and Rahul Dravid carried on to 145 at the end of the day's play. Dravid was 37 not out.
Twenty-eight runs were scored off the first four overs as Sehwag went on the attack from the outset. Sehwag has faced only 89 balls in his innings and 80 of his runs have come from boundaries.
He was especially effective against shorter balls to which his stand and deliver approach proved most effective.
During the day he scored 60 off 54 overs while Dravid took a much more controlled approach, adding only 15 runs to his overnight score.
