Series win caps Drumm’s century

Emily Drumm hit 83 in her 100th One-Day International for the White Ferns as they sealed a series victory over India with a 97-run win at Lincoln’s Bert Sutcliffe Oval.

A fifth-wicket stand of 97 with Maria Fahey (53) proved crucial as the host team produced a series-high 272 for eight from their 50 overs.

Captain Haidee Tiffen made 53, Aimee Mason 30 and Rebecca Rolls 24 as the White Ferns enjoyed a good day at the crease.

The Indians began strongly but an inspired spell by Sarah Tsukigawa prompted a middle-order collapse.

The State Otago Sparks captain took two wickets for only 24 runs and ran out India’s captain Mithali Raj.

The tourists lost four for 22, falling from 132 for four to 154/8 and were eventually dispatched for 175 with eight balls in hand.

The White Ferns complete their winning campaign with the fifth and final ODI on Monday, having compiled an unbeatable 3-1 lead.
