Spirit defeat holders

A Kate Pulford double helped State Northern Spirit to the top of the State League with victory over title-holding State Central Hinds at Hamilton.

Pulford scored 25 before taking three wickets as the Hinds were dismissed 20 runs short of the Spirit’s 168 total.

Anna Wilkins (47) and Nicola Browne (30) put on 64 for the fourth wicket to put Northern in a strong position.

Pulford then took three for 27 to help dismiss the visitors with more than two overs to spare.
