Wilson handed rugby role

Former BLACKCAP Jeff Wilson has been appointed to a coaching role with the Otago Rugby Football Union.

Wilson, 32, returned to cricket four years ago after a spell with Otago and the Highlanders, having debuted for the BLACKCAPS in 1993.

He was recalled to the national team in 2005, appearing in One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 action against Australia.

He made only one appearance for State Otago Volts in 2005/06, but a series of injuries ended his season prematurely.
